The Hong Kong option allows a whole day in Hong Kong, which can be utilised in a number of ways :

1.  Take advantage of a bit of tour in Hong Kong and have lunch in Hong Kong and then return for freshen up in the Premier Plaza Lounge at the airport.  Have shower, meals, drinks and a rest area.  Cost for 3 hour session is NZD 85 per person or for a 6 hours session is NZD 112 per person

2.  Just chill out in the lounge for 6 hours as above and then wait for your flight.

3.  Take yourselves to the Disneyland area and spend the day having a bit of fun.  Cost for a day NZD 175 per person.

4.  Or just stay the night – lots of hotels to choose from.

 

For Perth, if you have an Ozzie visa spend a few hours in Perth City and along the river.  Have some lunch and enjoy the sights before heading back to the airport to connect.  If you do not want to leave the airport you are welcome to stay in transit.   As long as you are in Perth for less than 8 hours you do not need a visa whilst in transit.
